Diabolo Journeys use discovery maps to provide a consistent structure for groups or individuals to explore topics with thoroughness and rigour. The discovery maps act as templates to guide and channel thinking.

Using graphics to elicit and capture discussions provides a common and internationally understood language to share information and build consensus. When used in groups, the graphics can be blown up to poster size and cover a wall, to encourage collaboration and ownership.

Each discovery map is designed with a 'how-to guide' and a facilitator deck. The facilitator deck guides the facilitator and team around the map, and the 'how to guide' provides the tough questioning necessary to elicit relevant and valuable feedback. The discovery map, facilitator deck and 'how to guide' together provide you with some formidable analytical and creative management tools.

• Graphic maps facilitate a group view of the issue, problem, situation or opportunity under scrutiny, leading (often) to a group consensus around the solution.
• As the graphic map is developed there is a flow from big picture thinking, to the detail and back to the big picture. This is essential to leadership thinking.
• Look at the map, isn't it refreshing to step back and look at a situation through someone else's eyes, not just in their shoes but as if you were where they are.
• As the maps are constructed they engage the multiple learning styles of the group: visual, auditory and kinaesthetic. Everyone can get involved, none are excluded.
• As the information is captured and displayed the output takes on a visual identity and the debate becomes self documenting.
• The finished result has visual impact and a ready made story to share with stakeholders.

Linking several discrete graphic maps together forms a journey which guides an individual or group through a logical flow to a desired outcome.
